The WC9 PSB 1500LB By-Pass Gate Valve for Steam is engineered for high-pressure, high-temperature steam isolation in power generation, petrochemical and industrial steam systems.
Its pressure seal bonnet (PSB) uses internal line pressure to reinforce bonnet sealing as pressure rises. This construction is commonly selected for severe pressure service where a compact, pressure-assisted bonnet joint is preferred over a conventional bolted bonnet arrangement.
The integrated by-pass equalization valve allows a controlled flow of steam to warm downstream piping and reduce differential pressure before the main gate is opened. This helps reduce operating torque and mitigates thermal shock during start-up.
The current configuration is listed with ASTM A217 WC9 alloy steel, Class 1500 rating, WC9 + Stellite wedge trim and bevel-gear operation. Hardfaced seating surfaces are used to improve resistance to erosion and galling in demanding steam service.
