The SPE × SPE Double Block and Bleed (DBB) Trunnion Ball Valve is designed for reliable pipeline isolation in demanding high-pressure fluid control systems. Featuring a robust trunnion-mounted construction and an A105N forged carbon steel body, the valve uses an SPE (Single Piston Effect) seat configuration on both the upstream and downstream sides to provide independent sealing against line pressure.
When the valve is fully closed, the two SPE seats isolate pressure from both ends of the pipeline. The medium trapped inside the valve body cavity can then be safely vented or drained through the bleed connection. This Double Block and Bleed design supports seat sealing verification, pressure release and safer maintenance procedures.
The SPE seat design also provides an automatic cavity pressure relief function. If pressure inside the body cavity increases because of thermal expansion of trapped fluid, the seat can move away from the ball and release excessive cavity pressure back toward the pipeline. This self-relieving design helps reduce the risk of excessive pressure accumulation inside the valve cavity.
Designed according to API 6D, this valve features a 1500LB pressure rating, split-body construction, DEVLON soft seats and RF flanged connections. The trunnion-mounted ball is mechanically supported to maintain stable positioning under high differential pressure while helping control operating torque.
The valve can be used in oil, gas, water, steam and other compatible industrial pipeline systems within the specified pressure, temperature and material limits. Its combination of DBB isolation, SPE self-relieving seats and trunnion-mounted construction makes it particularly suitable for applications requiring dependable shut-off and controlled cavity pressure management.

SPE × SPE Seat Configuration: Both upstream and downstream seats use the Single Piston Effect design. Pipeline pressure pushes each seat toward the ball to establish independent sealing.
Double Block and Bleed Function: When the valve is fully closed, pressure can be isolated from both pipeline directions, while trapped media inside the body cavity can be vented or drained through the bleed connection.
Automatic Cavity Pressure Relief: If trapped cavity pressure rises above line pressure due to thermal expansion, the SPE seat can move away from the ball and release excessive pressure back into the pipeline.
Trunnion-Mounted Design: The ball is mechanically supported by the trunnion structure, helping maintain stable alignment and controlled operating torque under high-pressure service conditions.

The SPE × SPE Double Block and Bleed Trunnion Ball Valve is designed for high-pressure pipeline isolation applications where reliable shut-off, cavity pressure management and safe maintenance access are important. Its A105N forged carbon steel construction, 1500LB pressure rating and self-relieving SPE seat arrangement make it suitable for demanding industrial piping systems.
Oil & Gas Transmission: Used as an isolation valve in oil and gas transmission pipelines where Double Block and Bleed functionality can help isolate sections of the pipeline and manage pressure trapped inside the valve body cavity.
Refineries & Petrochemical Plants: Suitable for hydrocarbon processing and transfer lines requiring high-pressure shut-off, fire-safe valve construction and dependable pipeline isolation.
Liquid Pipeline Service: The self-relieving SPE seat design is particularly useful where trapped liquid may expand because of temperature changes. Excessive cavity pressure can be released back toward the pipeline when the cavity pressure exceeds the line pressure.
Water, Steam and Oil Systems: Applicable to pipeline systems handling water, steam and oil within the specified pressure, temperature and material compatibility limits.
Maintenance Isolation: With the valve fully closed, the central cavity can be vented or drained to support seat integrity verification, pressure checking and maintenance procedures without relying solely on a single sealing barrier.
