The SPE * SPE Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve is the industrial standard for Double Block and Bleed (DBB) functionality. In this configuration, both the upstream and downstream seats are designed with the Single Piston Effect (SPE). This means each seat provides an independent seal against the ball based on line pressure. A critical advantage of the SPE * SPE design is its Self-Relieving capability: if the pressure within the body cavity exceeds the pipeline pressure (due to thermal expansion), the seats will be pushed away from the ball, allowing the excess pressure to discharge automatically back into the line. This prevents overpressure accidents and ensures the structural integrity of the valve.
